I joined Rumble Del Mar as a founding member in March 2023. As I left Pilates one day, some people caught my eye outside of what would soon become Rumble Del Mar. I was intrigued, so I stopped by for some info. I saw the value in adding cardio and strength training to my workout routine - especially as I get older.
From the very first class, I was hooked. While I am exhausted when I leave, I feel so energized at the same time. That energy just keeps me going throughout the day and keeps me coming back for more! The trainers are all knowledgeable and encouraging and the front desk staff is so helpful and personable. I really don’t know how they remember everyone’s names!
I was on vacation when the studio opened, so I was initially unaware there was a contest to see who the first person to get to 100 classes would be. Some of the members were approaching 50 classes and I was a bit behind, so I decided to kick it into gear. I have an unlimited membership so I thought, why not come back later in the day for a second class just to catch up. It quickly became an addiction…I just feel so good when class is over and I’m getting stronger with every class!
My very favorite part of Rumble is working out with my fellow boxers - we all have become such a tight group of friends and we are always so happy to see new members join our big family. And that’s truly what we’ve become: a family! It’s always great to see each other and catch up before class and occasionally go out for lunch after class. We work together to help each other reach our goals. 1,000 classes was a dream of mine and every class my Rumble family would ask me: “what number are you at?”, “what classes are you taking tomorrow?” or “when will you hit the big number?”. It meant the world to me to see all their faces there on that big day! Hitting 1,000 classes is more than a milestone to me, it's an accomplishment I can look back on and be proud of and also celebrate with my Rumble family that has helped me on this journey. I love celebrating their milestones too!
I really love all of the classes but if I had to pick a favorite, I’d say the 45 min Straight Up Boxing – essentially 8 rounds of boxing and 2 rounds of core. My favorite rounds? Combo on the bags and Core on the floor.
And yes, I still take pilates 6 days a week and I typically take 10-14 boxing classes EACH week! I really love it and am looking forward to the next 1000 classes!
